Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to services and payments processed through A. Cordova Insurance Services Inc. (the “Broker”).

1. Broker Service Fees

All broker service fees, policy fees, and administrative fees charged by A. Cordova Insurance Services Inc. are non-refundable. These fees compensate us for the time, expertise, and administrative work involved in quoting, binding, and servicing your insurance policies.

2. Insurance Premium Refunds

Insurance premiums are paid to the insurance carrier, not directly to our brokerage. Refunds of premiums are subject to the individual insurance carrier’s rules and the terms of your policy.

  • Cancellation by You: If you cancel a policy before the end of the term, you may be eligible for a refund of the unearned premium (the portion of the premium for the period when coverage was not in effect).
  • Refunds of unearned premium will be calculated according to the insurance carrier’s pro-rata or short-rate cancellation rules.
  • All refunds of unearned premium will be reduced by:
    • Any applicable broker service fees (which are non-refundable)
    • Carrier cancellation fees
    • Any other fees or charges outlined in your policy documents

3. Refund Processing

  • Premium refunds are typically processed by the insurance carrier within 30–60 days after the effective date of cancellation.
  • Once we receive the refund from the carrier, we will process and issue your portion (if any) as soon as possible.
  • Refunds are generally issued using the original method of payment.

4. No Refunds in Certain Cases

No refunds will be issued for:

  • Policies that have been active for the full term.
  • Claims that have been filed or incidents that occurred during the policy period.
  • Fees paid for services already rendered (e.g., policy changes, certificate issuance, etc.).
  • Any amount already earned by the insurance carrier.
